Three Calgary bars ranked among North America’s best places to grab a drink
Three Calgary cocktail bars have just been ranked among North America’s best.
Ahead of the reveal of North America’s 50 Best Bars on April 29, the organization behind The World’s 50 Best Bars dropped an extended list revealing the top 51 to 100 rankings, with three celebrated Calgary spots making the cut.
While the extended list has been a feature of The World’s 50 Best Bars and Asia’s 50 Best Bars lists, this is the first time the 51 to 100 spots have been revealed for North America.
The top-ranked Calgary spot on the extended list is low-key cocktail bar Missy’s, which narrowly missed out on a place in the top 50, coming in at an impressive 52.
Opening in 2022, Missy’s has quickly become a staple in Calgary’s cocktail scene, offering a unique selection of house cocktails. It also boasts one of the most impressive wine lists in town.
Just a few places behind was iconic YYC cocktail bar Proof, which ranked at 58. A go-to for cocktails in the city, Proof is a must-visit.
The final Calgary spot to make the extended list is Shelter, which ranked at 99. With a moody and mysterious vibe, Shelter offers a seasonally rotating cocktail list.
Each bar was ranked by gathering votes from over 300 bar industry experts, including bartenders, bar owners, drinks media, and cocktail connoisseurs from across the region, which includes the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Positions one to 50 of North America’s 50 Best Bars list will be revealed in a prestigious ceremony in Vancouver on April 29.
