A new premium katsu spot has just opened in Calgary

When Roy’s Korean Kitchen announced it would be winding down operations at its Mission location, we were left wondering what would happen to the space.

However, we now know the answer with the opening of Narikatsu, a new spot that touts itself as a “premium katsu restaurant.”

Narikatsu aims to marry tradition with modernity and celebrate the art of tonkatsu using the finest locally sourced pork for its dishes.

The spot offers several katsu dishes with breaded pork cutlets and mozzarella cheese, or diners can try its Gyu Katsu with panko fried beef that can be finished to your liking on your own personal grill.

Each combo comes with house-made sides, including potato salad, pressed sushi, miso soup, wafu salad, and katsu sauce.

Katsu isn’t the only dish on the menu as Narikatsu also offers udon, tempura, and appetizers such as edamame and takoyaki.

With other katsu spots like Katsuya recently opening its doors in the city, we can’t get enough!
