For those looking for Calgary’s hottest dining spots, 17th Avenue is not to be sniffed at. Now, a brand-new Asian kitchen has entered the mix.

Bul joins the growing list of Calgary restaurants that have opened this year so far, such as Koko Japanese Eatery and Convenience and After Eight.

The spot has just opened at 1244 17th Avenue SW. Taking over the space previously housing Oodle Noodle, the space has been totally transformed into an Asian fine dining establishment.

The family-style menu offers reinterpreted sushi and Korean dishes, and according to the restaurant, it aims to “combine traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques.”

Diners can get their hands on a range of dishes such as wagyu beef tartare with seaweed crisps, sweet chilli shrimp dim sum, bibimbap, sushi plates, steak plates and more.

For those keen bargain hunters, Bul also offers a discounted lunch menu from Monday to Thursday.
