A man has been charged with one count of voyeurism after he was caught allegedly filming women use the washroom at the Northgate Village Shopping Centre.

A release from the Calgary Police Service states that 18-year-old Alex Tran was arrested on Monday, September 23, after a woman allegedly saw him “recording her on a cell phone by reaching around the stall wall.”

Police believe that Tran had done this to multiple women without their consent within the same shopping mall, potentially dating back weeks and months before Monday’s incident.

Anyone who may have experienced suspicious behaviour at the women’s washroom at the Northgate Village Shopping Centre, either between noon and 2 pm Monday, September 23 or anytime prior, is asked to contact the police.

Tran is expected to appear in court on Friday, October 25.

CPS can be contacted at their non-emergency number of 403-266-1234, and tips can be left anonymously through Crimes Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or by visiting their website.
