A major new shopping plaza is in the works for north Calgary
Building permits have just been issued for the Livingston Commercial Centre, a brand-new development in Calgary that will offer over 100,000 sq. ft. of retail space.
According to Elan Construction, the new commercial centre will provide nine commercial retail units, covering over 111,000 sq. ft of retail space. The project is expected to take 22 months to complete.
Elan Construction, Brookfield, and Zeidler Architecture are all working on the project. According to Brookfield, the commercial centre will be located at 14390 1st St. NE. It will feature a grocery store, pharmacy, gas bar with a convenience store, fitness and personal services, restaurants, and health and wellness services.
The Livingston Commercial Centre will mark Elan Construction and Brookfield’s fifth combined retail development. The centre will serve the growing community of Livingston.

“This project is a testament to the strength and longevity of our relationships, both within our company and with our partners,” Elan Construction said on its website. “We’re also pleased to be collaborating with our friends at Zeidler Architecture on the Livingston Commercial Centre, located in the northeast of Calgary.”
According to Major Projects Alberta, the project is currently under construction, with building permits issued just this month. It is estimated to be done in 2027.
