New Japanese eatery and convenience store has just opened in Calgary

A new spot has just opened up on 17th Avenue and it’s a one-stop shop for quick and easy Japanese eats.
Koko Japanese Eatery and Convenience has just soft opened at 620a 17th Avenue SW, just beside Una Pizza + Wine.
It’s the latest venture from the team behind popular Japanese kitchen Ryuko. Unlike the latter, which offers upscale sushi and bites, Koko is a spot to pick up snacks, sushi, and larger dishes.
The bright and inviting storefront, complete with an adorable cat logo, has shelves stacked with imported snacks to take home.
For those looking for quick bites, the fridge is home to not only imported beverages but also housemade onigiri, sushi rolls, Koko’s own ponzu sauce, togarashi sauce, and more.
At its counter, diners will be able to grab steaming bowls of ramen, loaded don bowls, poke bowls, and sushi burritos.
