When it comes to quick and cheap lunchtime eats, you can’t go wrong with banh mi. While Calgary already has plenty of excellent banh mi spots, there’s a new kid on the block, and it’s super affordable to boot.

Hello BanhMi has just opened its doors in Crescent Heights, where it serves its signature subs, kimbap, bubble tea, and so much more.

Calgarians can enjoy a range of banh mi packed with anything from Vietnamese cold cuts, beef satay, meatballs, chicken, to vegetarian offerings such as lemongrass tofu and mushroom “meat.” Each is loaded with the classic banh mi fillings such as pickled vegetables, cucumbers and herbs.

Alongside its sandwiches, Hello BanhMi has a wide range of drinks, including six varieties of bubble tea and seven types of Vietnamese coffee.

For desserts, Hello Banhmi has the viral treat, tanghulu, which is fresh fruit such as grapes, strawberries, and mandarin on skewers and covered in melted sugar.

Hello BanhMi’s menu is large, but it’s also affordable, with each item costing $10 or less.

The spot is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday, while on Saturdays, it is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
