Two people died at the scene that day; 22-year-old Dorsa Dehdari and her father, 56-year-old Heidar Dehdari.

Police believe that Heidar is responsible for setting the fire that took the life of Dorsa on May 25, and which has now claimed the life of 15-year-old Dorna, who succumbed to her injuries on Monday, September 2, according to a release from the Calgary Police Service.

“We are devastated to inform you that Dorna has died as a result of complications due to injuries she sustained from the original events of May 25,” a statement from the Dehdari family states.

“We appreciate all of the support we have received from members of the community. We ask for our privacy to be respected at this time.”

The release noted that, while Dorna and Dorsa’s deaths are considered domestic-related homicides, they will not be laying any charges and no further suspects are being sought.
