Last summer, the hugely popular Francine’s pop-up announced it would be wrapping up its six-month stint inside Calgary’s Meat & Bread location. Since then, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to know what’s next for Francine’s, and now we finally have more details.

During its hiatus, the Francine’s team has hosted a few short-term pop-ups, most notably at Paper Lantern and Canmore’s Sauvage. But in a recent Instagram post, it was revealed that its first permanent brick-and-mortar location will be opening in Calgary’s Chinatown.

“Our permanent home — built on a strong foundation of brown butter and martinis — is coming to you this fall,” Francine’s said in an Instagram post.

The “petit French bar” concept is being brought to life by bar manager Nate Wry and chef Garrett Martin. Its menu focuses on showcasing old-world cocktails, spirits and aperitifs alongside tavern-focused and French-accented fare.

The new spot is expected to open this fall, so watch this space!
