Matt Stajan is taking his talents overseas.

The 34-year-old forward has signed a contract with the Munich Red Bulls, a team in the top pro league in Germany.

Stajan leaves Calgary after spending nine years with the Flames organization – accumulating 190 points over 558 games during that span. Most recently, he registered 12 points in 68 games during the 2017-18 season.

Stajan was the last piece remaining from the seven-player blockbuster trade that saw Dion Phaneuf traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2010.

In all, the veteran centre leaves the NHL with more than 1000 games played and 400 points on his resume.
