Calgary Flames goalies showing off cool new gear before training camp
The Calgary Flames may have one of the best-looking goalie tandems in the NHL this season.
It’s not expected to be a great year for the rebuilding Flames, who are prepared to play their final season in the Saddledome. The team is coming off another lowly season where they shipped off most of their solid veteran pieces and are expected to hand the reins to the youth.
That is despite having a pretty serviceable goaltending tandem of Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley between the pipes. Both goaltenders posted respectable stats with a bad Calgary team last season, and they are expected to be a strength for the Flames this upcoming year.
And they’ll look great doing it.
Both Wolf and Cooley were on the ice on Friday, where they were rocking new sets of gear for the upcoming season. Cooley may have made the most waves with an awesome fiery design on his gear.

Cooley showed off the new gear earlier in the offseason, but it looks even better in action. It’s an ambitious and unique design that goes perfectly with the peculiar off-ice personality that has made him a fan favourite among the Flames faithful.
The changes are a bit more subtle on Wolf’s end, who will be rocking a set of gear that looks largely the same as last season but with a few small changes. He will have a new mask,Ā which features the return of the fierce wolf on top of the cage.
The “WOLF” text at the chin portion of the mask has been recoloured to red from last year’s iteration of yellow. It remains to be seen what else the mask will entail and if it will make as much waves as his Johnny Gaudreau tribute back in 2024.Ā
In terms of the pads, Wolf has opted to keep the same outline of the design, but has changed up the colouring in a few spots. Overall, the new gear has a more consistent, blocky kind of look as compared to last season.

The Flames are looking to surprise this season, and both Wolf and Cooley will need to be at the top of their game to make that happen.
