When Devin Cooley hits the ice for the Calgary Flames this coming season, he’ll be doing so in style.
Cooley, who has already become a fan favourite in Calgary after just one season with the Flames, revealed some new gear on Tuesday. Suffice to say, he’ll have one of the best sets of all goalies in the NHL in 2026-27.
Holy, @devinjcooley 🤯 These are are absolute 🔥

This setup will work particularly well with the Flames’ road jerseys. The flame design on both his pads, his glove, and his blocker pop far more than the gear he wore throughout the vast majority of the 2025-26 season.

Gear aside, Cooley is looking to prove to everybody that his rookie season with the Flames was no fluke.
A late bloomer, Cooley, 29, entered the 2025-26 season with just six NHL games under his belt. Despite the inexperience, he proved to be a great backup option behind Dustin Wolf, posting an impressive 2.69 GAA along with a .909 SV%. He gave his team a chance to win in nearly every start he made, finishing the season with a 10-10-6 record.
Rather than competing for an NHL spot as he was forced to do a season ago, Cooley is now pencilled in as the Flames’ back-up for 2026-27 thanks to a two-year, $2.7-million extension he signed in late December.

While we are still more than a month away from the Flames’ season opener against the Seattle Kraken, they will begin their preseason — which consists of four games — on Sept. 20. Cooley figures to dress for at least a couple of those games, meaning that fans will be able to see this new gear in action in the very near future.
