Exposure Photography Festival will be back in Calgary starting this weekend

Jan 27 2020, 6:06 pm

Calgary has a thriving photography scene, so it’s no wonder that we’ve got an annual festival to celebrate it.

Exposure Photography Festival is running throughout the entirety of February this year, with events, parties, and exhibitions taking place all throughout the city.

The 2020 version marks the festival’s 16th year running, and is expected to see everything from a 750-foot long The FENCE exhibition to a number of artist talks and seminars.

“Exposure celebrates photography by hosting thoughtfully curated exhibitions that showcase internationally renowned practitioners alongside emerging and established talent from Alberta,” the festival’s website states.

“Exposure provides an exciting, innovative meeting place for practitioners to connect and communicate with curators and industry professionals from around the world.”

The entire party kicks off on Friday, January 31 with a Launch Party at Contemporary Calgary — the festival’s headquarters — and is free for all who would like to attend, though registration is required.

The sheer amount of activities hosted by the festival throughout the month can be found at their website, with plenty being free and child-friendly.
