Hot chicken restaurant with major following to open new Calgary location this week
Just a few short weeks after opening its first Calgary location, Dave’s Hot Chicken is coming in hot with a second YYC outpost this week.
Its newest YYC location will be opening in the northwest at Beacon Hill, located at 11588 Sacree Tr. NW, on Friday, Aug. 8 (though there is a sneaky soft opening on Thursday, July 7), where diners will be able to try the brand’s famous chicken sliders and tenders.
Dave’s Hot Chicken first opened in 2017, in an East Hollywood parking lot, but has since expanded to dozens of locations around the world. Its popularity was cemented when Canadian rapper Drake acquired a stake in the company in 2021.
The concept has several locations across Canada, including Ontario, Edmonton, and most recently, Calgary.

It’s a concise menu, consisting of just chicken tenders, sliders, and a handful of sides. However, its chicken can be customized to one of seven different heat levels, from zero spice right up to its legendary tear-inducing “Reaper” heat.
It also offers fries, kale slaw, and real ice cream milkshakes to help cool off from the serious spice.
After a long wait, Dave’s Hot Chicken confirmed it would be opening three Calgary outposts in 2025, with its first opening in East Hills last month. After its Beacon Hill opening, a third will be opening on Macleod Trail this fall.
