Try your wits at a Christmas-themed escape room at Lougheed House

Nov 29 2019, 9:48 pm

Calgary’s Lougheed House is being turned into a huge escape room house this Christmas.

The Victorian mansion will be taken over by Escape Capers YYC from December 26 to 30, allowing Calgarians the chance to test their wits against the puzzles, brain-teasers, and riddles that bar their freedom.

Taking a regular escape room up quite a few notches, the Holly Jolly Christmas Caper will include teams of two to nine people working their way through the house and solving clues as they go.

The ticking clock will also be extended far past the usual 45 to 60 minutes that most escape rooms offer, with over 100+ minutes allotted to adventurers looking to solve this year’s story, which has been supplied in a rhyme by Escape Capers YYC:

He stood by his scheme, and he grinned a sly smile.
“It’s so fun to be mean, all this plotting worthwhile.
Oh Rudolph, so wild, but simply too cool.
And Buddy, a child, so easy to fool.
Little Claus and the elf, too dumb, and too dry.”
He said to himself, with a gleam in his eye.
So he cricked all the cracks, in his green Grinchy hands
And he set to enact his most naughty Grinch plans.

The experience costs $50 to $55 per person, and the 2019 edition has been co-produced by The Locked Room.
