Two new high-rise towers in the works near CF Chinook Centre

A new residential development has been approved near CF Chinook Centre, bringing two high-rise rental towers just one block away from the busy shopping centre.
The new buildings were proposed back in 2024, with the development permit being approved on Sept. 8, 2025, and released to the applicant on March 26, 2026.
Once built, the development will include an 18-storey north tower and a 19-storey east tower, adding a combined 504 rental units to the Manchester Industrial neighbourhood.

The site, located along 61st Avenue, is currently a large parking lot with a Scotiabank on it. According to Major Projects Alberta, Cadillac Fairview is the developer behind the project, with Zeidler Architecture listed as the architect.
“Designed as a transit-oriented development, the purpose-built rental project is strategically located a block from CF Chinook Centre and immediately adjacent to the Chinook LRT station, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering vibrant and thriving communities across Canada,” Cadillac Fairview’s website states.
This new development is just one of many new projects coming to Calgary. Calgary YMCA and Calgary Public Library recently announced a 69,000 sq. ft recreation centre and library proposed for west Calgary, and construction has officially started on a new high-rise in East Village.
