A big new development is being proposed near CF Chinook Centre

A big new development is being proposed near CF Chinook Centre, which could lead to hundreds of new units for Calgarians to call home.

Details on the project are relatively scarce; however, according to a development permit application from the City of Calgary, the two proposed buildings would be 20 storeys in height and hold 504 dwelling units.

Zeidler Architecture is also the applicant attached to the proposed project on 61st Avenue, which is currently a large parking lot with a Scotiabank on it.

The City added that a land use amendment to the proposed MU-1 district is required to support this application.

The application is now under review. Once it is complete, City staff will decide on it.
