Manitoba man dials 9-1-1 for the most Canadian request ever

Every now and then, people need a reminder as to what validates a call to 9-1-1.

Receiving a pair of snow pants for Christmas?

Nope.

To complain that a fast food restaurant wasn’t open 24-hours-a-day?

Still no.

To complain about an Amber Alert?

Not a chance.

And most recently, according to a tweet by the Manitoba RCMP, calling to rent a Zamboni isn’t a good reason either.

Less than a week ago, the provincial police force received a 9-1-1 call from a man asking where he could rent a Zamboni for an upcoming hockey tournament.

“We understand that in Canada, this could be an emergency to some, however, this is not a valid reason to dial 9-1-1.” says the RCMP.

There was no mention as to whether the caller received any chargers or not, but it may qualify for the most Canadian 9-1-1 call of the year.

And just saying, if you’ve ever skated on bad ice, you’ll know that it’s a crime in itself.
