Samsung introduces Galaxy Fold, the world’s first foldable smartphone

Feb 21 2019, 2:39 am

Foldable phones seem so 2002, but Samsung has officially brought them back in a truly innovative way.

Today Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold.

The Fold combines a powerful smartphone and a tablet — something that has never been seen before.

It has a 4.6-inch display when folded and then opens up to a 7.3-inch infinity display when it turns into a tablet.

To make this happen, the phone is equipped with a hidden hinge system that allows the phone to open and close smoothly.

The Fold comes with six cameras: three on the back, two in the inside, and one in the front.

As for the processing system, the Fold has 521GB of Universal Flash Storage. As well, the Fold has a 7nm processor and 12GB of RAM.

It is also equipped with the ability to run with three apps at once and app continuity. Meaning when you unfold the phone, everything expands into a bigger display.

The Fold is priced at $1,980 USD. A Canadian release has not been announced. It is available in 5G and LTE.
