2019 AUArts SA Spring Show + Sale

Public Roller Skate Party with Calgary Roller Skate

What: Lights, music, and a 15,000 sq.ft. of beautiful wood floor to get your skate on. There will be a family skate, followed by a night skate with a DJ. Roller skates and inline skates are welcome. Late Late Breakfast Show presents Born to Fun

Charity Fashion Show: Gender X Fashion

What: The UCalgary Fashion Network presents its second-annual Charity Fashion Show: Gender Diversity in Fashion, in partnership with the University of Calgary Students Union and Suit Up!. Enjoy an evening of creativity, innovation, and conversation and explore gender fluidity and the boundaries of its expression in fashion. Kokanee Retro Weekend in Fernie, BC 2019

What: Fernie is hosting a Kokanee Retro Weekend, inviting skiers and snowboarders alike out to the mountain in their freshest 70s and 80s threads. One-piece ski suits, spandex, neon colours, and headbands are all welcome for the fun, which will feature DJs blasting throwback tunes and Kokanee beer on tap. Beer gardens are open from 1 to 6 pm, plaza entertainment will run from 3 to 6 pm, and the entire night will end off with a Hot Tub Time Machine Party at The Griz Bar from 9 pm to midnight.

Any Calgarians that are planning to make the three-hour drive out to Fernie for the festivities should keep in mind that it is BC, so the after-hours party at Griz Bar will only be available for those who are 19 and older. Cover for the party and plaza events is free, though a ticket up the slopes will cost adults $110 for the full day.

“The Three Little Pigs and B.B. Wolfe”: A free Eco-Inspired Musical Theatre Performance for Families 

What: A slapstick musical theatre romp for young audiences by award-winning Alberta playwright, Jana O’Connor. B.B. Wolfe is a climate scientist, tasked with getting three stuck in their ways little pigs to think and act with stewardship in mind while learning to embrace energy-efficient building practices for a changing climate.

What: For the remainder of this winter season, the Acura Tube Park will be open on select nights from 5 to 7:30 pm, allowing business-hour-workers the chance to go for a few slides — without the hassle of the crowded slopes on the weekend. If not night tubing, the park is also open on most weekend days from 10 am to 1 pm or 2 to 5 pm.

We Matter: Open House & Community Art Project
