Roll Out: Calgary’s First Roller Skate Festival

What: A festival that brings magic on wheels for a weekend of workshops, performances, great music and skating at the Village Square Leisure Center. Watch, dance, skate and learn from international guests, local professionals and skaters from across North America. Featuring a Friday night skate, Saturday night spectacular Gala Showcase featuring international stars, an amateur showcase, park skating, and roller dance workshops.

The 2019 Royal Canadian Family Circus

What: The internationally-renowned event is coming to Calgary for 12 shows on its 2019 Canadian tour. Expect explosive circus acts like the Flying Cortes Trapeze, the Wheel of Destiny, chair balancing, and aerialists, to name a few.

Heritage Park Summer Season

What: Enjoy a different experience every day at Calgary’s Heritage Park Historical Village. Take a tour back in time on a horse-drawn wagon ride, play traditional Aboriginal games in the First Nations’ Encampment and pick up a freshly baked cheese bun from the Alberta Bakery. Plus S.S. Moyie Paddlewheeler will once again sail the Glenmore Reservoir this summer, which means the return of the much-loved Captain’s Cruises.

Bumble Block Party

What: Join Bumble users from all over Calgary for a full weekend takeover of Ol’ Beautiful’s patio (1103 12th St. SE). Come for the lawn games, live musical performances, inspiring panels, a drag brunch, beer flights and tastings, a women-led market, and lots of empowering connections. Throughout the weekend, for every social media post with the hashtag #BumbleBlockParty, Bumble will donate $5 to local charity Making Changes.

Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash

What: The Sylvan Lake Aqua Splash is a giant inflatable obstacle course big enough for adults to jump around on. The gigantic floating fortress features a 15-foot tower, a climbing wall, a launch bag, a trapeze swing, and basically anything else you could ever imagine. Located, as the name suggests, on Sylvan Lake, the aqua park can be found just west of Red Deer, meaning that it is only an hour and a half drive from Calgary for a full day of fun on the lake.

Father’s Day Brewery Tours at Red Bison Brewery

What: The tour starts off with an explanation of Red Bison’s name and why founder Steve started the brewery. Attendees will then see the homebrew system Steve used to brew beer on the balcony of his downtown Calgary condo, and talk about malt and how each of the flavours impact the recipes. After this, it’s a walk through the processes for the brew day and the fermentation process. Once the tour is complete, guests will be able to drink beers. Ticket includes Brewery Tour, a flight consisting of 4 x 5oz glasses plus 10% off merch purchases.
