Calgary will see a rainy weekend, but sunny skies to follow

Seeing as we traded what would usually be our “April showers” for “April snowstorms,” it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the rain is finally catching up to us in the tail end of spring.

Calgarians can expect a rainy weekend starting on Saturday with a 30% chance of rain. The odds are even less in sunshine’s favour come Sunday and Monday, as the forecast from Environment Canada shows that the showers will not let up until Monday night.

There is some good news for those lacking in Vitamin D, however, as the sun is expected to make an appearance on Tuesday following the weekend rain.

Highs will get up to 22°C by Wednesday, and we can all go back to pretending that it’s already summer.

There is a silver lining to a bit of rain now and then, of course, as the dry, hot summer weather in Alberta has always been a wildfire disaster just waiting to happen.

So, when you’re stuck indoors on Sunday cursing the skies, just be happy that you’re seeing grey clouds and not black smoke.
