The September long weekend forecast for Calgary isn't looking too cute
The September long weekend is fast approaching, but the forecast for Calgary is one that will make you cross your fingers that nicer weather will make an appearance.
Heading into the final long weekend of the summer season, the current forecast from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for the city is hinting at weather that isn’t the most dazzling.
Today, Sept. 2, will surely be warm, with a high of 25°C before periods of rain and the risk of a thunderstorm popping up tonight.
To kick off the September long weekend, Friday, Sept. 4 will be a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 21°C before cloud coverage moves in at night.
Weather starts to take a turn as we enter the heart of the long weekend, with a 30 per cent chance of showers and daytime highs in the upper teens for both Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6.
Labour Day Monday is also looking a little shaky, with a warmer high of 21°C; however, a 30 per cent chance of showers is also present, with the sun peeking out from clouds here and there.

According to ECCC, the average high for this time of year in the city is 19°C, while the average low is 6°C.
Looking well past the September long weekend, there has been a flurry of early winter forecasts for the province. OpenSnow, a U.S. based forecast service, is calling for above-normal temperatures for a large swath of Alberta, including areas like Edmonton, Red Deer, Calgary, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat.
