Calgary to see snow, sub-zero temperatures again by this weekend

All good things must come to an end — even if that “good thing” is not completely freezing the moment you take a step outside.

Following what has been quite the mild week for weather in Calgary comes foretellings of freezing temperatures on the horizon.

The Weather Network‘s seven-day forecast for YYC is calling for a sudden drop below freezing come this weekend, taking us from the highs of around 3 to 6Ā°C right down to -5Ā°C and even -10Ā°C by the start of next week.

Here’s a look at what’s in store for us over the next seven days:

sub-zero

Calgary weather (The Weather Network)

The sub-zero temperatures will even bring a bit of snow, with around 1 cm falling on Saturday, 2 to 40 cm on Sunday, and another 1 cm or so next Monday.

It’s not nearly the snowmageddon that we saw last November, or the bitingly cold temperatures we survived a few weeks ago, but it’s still a return to true Calgary form.

Here’s hoping for another chinook sometime soon!
