A horror movie sequel just began filming in and around Calgary

Things are about to get a little scary around Calgary, as a horror movie sequel is set to start filming around the city this week.
According to the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Prank Night 2: Repetition is set to film in Calgary and surrounding areas from Sept. 14 to Oct. 9, 2026.
The movie is a sequel to Prank Night, which was also filmed in Alberta and was released earlier this year. According to IMDB, the first movie followed a young woman seeking revenge on a group of thugs who attacked her family.
Prank Night featured Canadian actors Katharine Isabelle, Katherine Evans, Hailey Foss, Zoe Marlett, and Chad Rook, who also appeared in Season 3 of the Alberta-shot My Life With The Walter Boys.

The sequel’s production has named Kaitlyn Emslie Farrell as the director, with Jayson Therrien listed as the writer.
Alberta has quickly become a popular spot for movie and TV filming. A new show, Anna Pigeon, that was filmed in Alberta hit streaming platforms back in August, and Airdrie was recently the site of a movie shoot.
