Calgary Flames unveil new jerseys featuring a golden logo

The Calgary Flames’ Hometown Remix jersey is here, and it’s far different than any sweater we’ve seen them wear before.

As had been expected based on some hints along the way, the Flames’ new jersey features plenty of gold. The overall look of the jersey is meant to pay tribute to the Scotiabank Saddledome in what is the final season the Flames are playing out of the iconic building.

“Hometown Remix jerseys celebrate the people and places that make each city so great. And nowhere is this more poignant than Calgary, celebrating the last year of Flames in the Saddledome,” the Flames wrote in a statement.

“Housing every home game since 1983, this arena has seen it all. Worthy opponents. Dramatic battles. Floods! It’s become more than a building. It’s an anchor for community. A physical legacy. One that will live on in your Hometown Remix jersey.”

 

The most noticeable feature is the gold Flaming C on the front, which incorporates the distinctive waffle-pattern design of the Saddledome’s roof.

There are several other nods to the iconic building throughout the design, including sleeve striping inspired by the Saddledome’s windows and exterior hem striping that reflects the arena’s unique roofline.

The bottom of the jersey also features the opening years of both arenas, marking the transition from the Saddledome to Calgary’s new home, Scotia Place.

“There are few things as identifiable with Calgary and the Calgary Flames as the Scotiabank Saddledome,” said CSEC president and CEO Robert Hayes. “For our Farewell Season, we are proud to have partnered with the NHL and Fanatics to create a uniform that pays tribute to the building that has been part of the fabric of this city since 1983.”

Despite it looking far different than any jersey we’ve seen from the Flames, it seems to be a hit with the fan base in the very early going.

The Flames will debut their Hometown Remix jerseys on Friday night when they host the Anaheim Ducks. The team is scheduled to wear the new look nine times throughout the 2026-27 campaign. Here’s a look at the additional dates…
