The Calgary Flames have dropped a major hint about what their new jerseys will look like ahead of an expected reveal next month.

All 32 NHL teams are expected to debut new uniforms this season as part of the league’s “Hometown Remix” initiative. Each design will celebrate the fans, city, and local culture of its respective team, according to the NHL.

In Calgary, the expectation is that the new sweaters will pay homage to the Saddledome during the iconic building’s final season. Beyond that, details have been scarce, but a couple of recent developments have given fans something to speculate about.

The Flames tweeted out a riddle on Wednesday morning that reads “One last ride.” That, of course, is referring to this final season at the Saddledome.

What was particularly interesting was that the background of the photo was all gold, which is seemingly an indication that these jerseys may prominently feature that colour.

That hint seemed to be solidified further during the Flames’ practice on Thursday, as their TV play-by-play voice Jon Abbott tweeted out a photo of Dustin Wolf debuting some new gold equipment.

The Flames will wear their Hometown Remix-themed jerseys nine times this season. Their first game with them is set to come on Friday, Nov. 6, in a home outing against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Hometown Remix uniforms are one of three jerseys the Flames will wear on home ice this season. They also revealed shortly before the 2026-27 campaign that their iconic 2004-era jerseys would be making a return. They will wear the ’04-themed jerseys on four occasions, with the first coming this Saturday against the Detroit Red Wings.

The official reveal of this jersey isn’t expected to come until early November, meaning Flames fans will still have to wait roughly two weeks to see what the final product will look like. What does seem quite clear, however, is that they will feature plenty of gold.
