Who’s in the Hall Wednesdays

What: Enjoy a free night at Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. For the first time, the hall will be opening their doors on the first Wednesday of every month featuring free admission, cash bar, fun interactives, and a speakers series.

Airdrie Farmers’ Market

From Racialization to Peoplehood: Exploring Métis Identity, Past and Present

What: Lougheed House’s summer exhibit explores Métis identity from a number of perspectives, both historical and contemporary.

When: Wednesdays to Sundays until September 29, 2019. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays
Time: 11 am to 4 pm (Wednesdays to Fridays), 10 am to 4 pm (Saturdays and Sundays)

The Blue Jay Cafe

What: Every night from September 4 to 7, the Southern-style pop-up will host two sets of country singers who will perform in songwriter circle sessions. Artists slated to perform include Desiree Dorian, Drew Gregory, and Sons of Daughters, according to the pop-up’s event page.

If you get hungry while listening to these music performances, audience members can order from the menu, which includes a fried Empire Provisions bologna sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich with Kool-Aid pickles, and a Goo Goo Cluster pie — a mix of marshmallow nougat, milk chocolate, caramel, and peanuts.

Find Your Heart(h) Art Exhibit

What: Athena Cooper’s first solo art exhibition features acrylic paintings and digital artwork telling the story of the romantic relationship between a disabled woman and a transgender man. Inspired by the artist’s own life with the rare genetic disorder, Osteogenesis Imperfecta.

When: Mondays to Saturdays until September 5, 2019
