Bret The Hitman Hart Night at Calgary Hitmen

What: The Calgary Hitmen plan to honour their namesake, Calgary’s own wrestling superstar Bret “The Hitman” Hart, with a Bret “The Hitman” Hart Night on November 2 when they host the Saskatoon Blades. The game will feature the chance to get a photo with the legend, with all proceeds going towards the Calgary Prostate Cancer Centre — an organization that Hart has been a committed supporter of for many years.

Prairie Wrestling Alliance has agreed to host a free wrestling card following the Hitmen’s game. A wrestling ring will be brought out onto the ice where a four match of PWA wrestlers will go at it in honour of Hart.

21st Annual Calgary Real Estate Forum 2019

Monthly Open House at AVRO Museum

What: Learn more about Avro Canada and its contributions to Canada’s aviation and aerospace legacy, plus see the latest progress on the Arrow II project. There will be a flight simulator on-site, used in AVRO’s design and testing, which will be open for the public to take for a spin.

Banff Gondola

What: Head to the summit for an unreal view above the treetops and a birds-eye view of six different mountain ranges while sipping on coffee or a refreshing glass of wine. Start with a walk along the Sulphur Mountain Boardwalk to learn more about Canada’s first national park, or go indoors to sample from three restaurant menus. Then get hands-on in the world-class interpretive centre and theatre.

Commemorate Remembrance Day

The Military Museums – Ceremony

Join the Military Museum for a special ceremony to remember the fallen. The museum will be open after the ceremony and admissions are by donation. It’s recommended to arrive early, and non-perishable food donations are accepted.

Canadian Pacific – Ceremony

The annual ceremony will take place at the Ogden Memorial and it’s open to the public. Canadian Pacific will pay tribute to more than 33,000 employees who served in the last century’s wars. Every CP locomotive will sound its whistle at 11:01 am to start a moment of silence.

The annual ceremony will be held outdoors if weather permitting, and it’s recommended to arrive early and dress warmly. Non-perishable food donations to the Veterans Food Bank will be accepted and the museum will keep its doors open after the ceremony with admission by donation until 4 pm.

Winter ice skating at Olympic Plaza

What: Built in 1988 for the Olympic Winter Games, Olympic Plaza has the only refrigerated outdoor ice surface in the city. You can rent skates down at the plaza if you don’t have a pair of your own. Helmets are strongly encouraged.

Millarville Christmas Market

What: Established in 1988, this annual market features four days of Christmas lights, hay rides, photos with Santa and his reindeer, food, live entertainment, and more. Attendees will also get to shop for gifts from seasonal vendors.

Banff Gondola Mountaintop Christmas 2019

What: From mid-November until the end of December, the Banff Gondola will turn its sky-high destination into a Winter Wonderland, complete with visits from Santa, cookie decorating, star gazing, and a mulled wine bar. Kids get free admission (one per adult admission) if they take the gondola up before noon, and all the Christmassy goodness that awaits at the top is built into the price of the ticket.

Jason Mraz

What: Grammy award-winner Jason Mraz is performing in Calgary on his new North American tour. What: City and Colour is swinging by Calgary during a cross-continent tour this fall. City and Colour has seven platinum-certified albums and three gold-certified albums in Canada. His latest studio release, I Should Go Before You, hit number one on the Top 200 Soundscan and marked his third consecutive chart-topping album in the country. He’s also made some waves outside of the Canadian music scene, hitting number 16 on the US Billboard 200 Chart and worked with P!nk on a duet that debuted number one in Canada, number two in Australia, and number four in the US.
