8 Calgary employers named among Canada’s best for company culture
Several Calgary-based employers have just been recognized among the best workplaces in Canada for company culture, according to Forbes’ 2026 ranking.
The list, created in partnership with Statista, surveyed more than 37,000 Canadian employees at companies with at least 500 employees in Canada. “Survey respondents (who remained anonymous so they could answer freely) were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it on aspects of company culture including fairness, inclusivity and opportunity.”
This marks the second year Forbes has released its Best Employers For Company Culture ranking.
Only one Calgary-based employer cracked the top 10, with Bethany Care Society ranking fifth overall. The non-profit organization took a massive step up from its 162nd placement in 2025.
Calgary’s energy sector has a strong showing on the list, with Shell Canada ranking 37th overall, followed by Suncor Energy at 77th.

Enmax and law firm Bennett Jones also earned spots in the top 100, ranking 82nd and 92nd, respectively.
Mount Royal University was the next Calgary-based employer on the list, ranking 141st overall. The university also appeared on Forbes’ list of Canada’s Best Employers earlier this year, placing 104th.
Enbridge followed in 162nd place on the company culture ranking, quite a big drop from its 19th place finish on Forbes’ Canada’s Best Employers For Company Culture list in 2025.

Rounding out the Calgary-based employers on the list was Mark’s, which ranked 195th overall. The clothing and footwear retailer, founded in Calgary in 1977, was the final local employer to make the cut.
