New dramatic 16-storey building going up in one of Calgary's most popular neighbourhoods

A new mixed-use building is in the works in Calgary, and it’s set to bring hundreds of residential units to Bridgeland-Riverside.
Bucci Developments is moving forward with its East Riverside project, located at 35 11A St. NE in Bridgeland-Riverside, which will include approximately 378 residential units and 485 square metres of retail space.
The project, designed by Casola Koppe, will mark Bucci Developments’ sixth project in the area.
The 16-storey, 248,000 sq. ft. building will include commercial retail space, along with amenities such as a fitness and wellness centre, a business centre, meeting rooms, and outdoor spaces designed to support community gatherings and resident amenities.
It will also be located less than two blocks from the Bridgland-Memorial CTrain Station, giving residents access to easy transit.

The project required a land use change to allow for the proposed height, with the approved plans now allowing for a maximum height of 52 metres, up from the previous 50-metre limit.
It will also include underground parking and ground-oriented housing as part of the overall design.
Development permits for the project were approved by the City of Calgary on Jan. 21, 2026. According to its website, construction was anticipated to start with stripping and grading in March of 2026, and it’s set to be complete by the third quarter of 2028.

This isn’t the only residential building in the works for Calgary right now. Construction is currently underway on a new 18-storey building in downtown.
