Calgary to experience a 14°C temperature shift this week

It might still be a little too early to say it, but we’re going to say it anyway: We made it through the winter, Calgary!

While there’s always a chance of snow in our near-future during the spring months (and, honestly, right into June) here in Calgary, we think we’re safe to say that the worst of the winter is officially behind us.

It’s not quite summery weather yet ’round these parts, but given this week’s forecast from The Weather Network, you can’t blame us for getting at least a little excited about the warmth we’re about to see.

It’s true that the week will start off pretty mild with temperatures ranging around 10°C and a little drizzle, but a 14°C temperature shift is on its way later this week to bring us some much-needed sunshine.

Thursday and Friday will gradually ramp up that temperature gauge with highs of 17°C and 18°C respectively, and Saturday will come in with a scorching 24°C.

The mainly sunny skies will continue through to Sunday, with an equally-as-enjoyable high of 19°C.

If you’ve got some plans to go camping this weekend, just make sure you’re packed up and heading home by Monday, because the start of next week is expected to see showers and a high of just 12°C.

But, when compared to the dumping of snow we saw just a week ago, we’re happy with any day that’s above freezing.

Welcome to a proper spring, Calgary!
