A body was found in Fish Creek Park around dawn on Sunday, January 7.

A release from the Calgary Police Service states police responded to the park’s area near the Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant at approximately 7:30 am, after reports were called in of a body being found.

According to police, the body is believed to be of a Caucasian male who stood over six feet tall.

CPS has not yet determined if the death is criminal in nature or the result of a suicide, though an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday and will hopefully shed some light on the matter, as well as the man’s identity.

Police are asking anyone who may be missing a loved one to file a missing person’s report, as the preliminary identification of the victim does not match any current reports.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234.
