The park is a concept born from Springboard Performance, a not-for-profit organization devoted to connecting artists to the public and providing a platform. The concept was simple: Repurposing otherwise desolate shipping containers and using that as a canvas to display art.
ContainR first appeared at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, introducing Alberta street art to the world. From there, it went to become the first city permitted Art Park in Calgary.

Since its humble beginnings, ContainR grew to become a collection of shipping containers, an open-air theatre, a courtyard made of re-purposed rig mats, public furniture, moveable seating, sculptures, a little library, and a permaculture garden.

How do I get there?
Head East on 5 Avenue SW toward 3 Street SW S/Barclay St SW. From there, you’re going to use the left lane to continue on Edmonton Trail and turn left onto Memorial Drive. Keep going for just over two and a half kilometres to take a right onto 9th Street NW. Turn left onto 2nd Avenue NW and the park will be on your left.
You could also just hop over the Louise Bridge, but the shorter trip could take you even longer, depending on the traffic.
