New live music venue set to take over notable 16,000-square-foot Calgary location

Earlier this year, long-standing Calgary nightclub The Back Alley closed its doors without warning, leaving many wondering about the fate of the space.
Now, it has been revealed that the nightclub on Macleod Trail has undergone a huge renovation and rebrand, and is now named The Arrowhead.
The 16,000-square-foot space will play host to concerts, special events, corporate functions and weddings, with brand new state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems and exceptional stage sightlines.

According to The Arrowhead, the new venue will pay “homage to the property’s iconic past,” and the spot is slated to open sometime this fall.
Before its closure, The Back Alley operated for over 25 years before an initial closure in 2013. The spot reopened in December 2019, but was forced to close due to the pandemic in 2020.
It then eventually opened its doors to the public once more in 2021, hosting hundreds of events including foam parties, themed nights and Stampede concerts.
It’s an exciting new era for one of Calgary’s most notable venues, so stay tuned for more details on the opening.
