
Victoria’s downtown will transform into a festive wonderland this Saturday, November 30 as the 42nd Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade takes over the streets.
While the holiday spirit will be in full swing, drivers should prepare for road closures and significant traffic disruptions.
The parade will kick off at 5 pm at the corner of Government Street and Belleville Street, and will weave its way through downtown via Government Street, Humboldt Street, and Douglas Street before dispersing at the Victoria Public Market.
Road closures to watch for
To accommodate the event, several major road closures will be in effect:
- Belleville Street (Douglas to Menzies) from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Menzies Street (Belleville to Superior) from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Government Street (Humboldt to Superior) from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Wharf Street (Johnson to Government) | Local traffic only from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Humboldt Street (Government to Douglas) from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Douglas Street (Belleville to Bay) from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
Road closures will begin as early as 3 pm to allow for marshalling. Drivers heading downtown are encouraged to plan alternate routes or consider public transit.

After the parade, head to Centennial Square to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, with photos available by donation, and be dazzled by the Lights of Wonder.
