Beloved Cafe Zanzibar in Brentwood Bay will close at year's end

Cafe Zanzibar, a beloved casual dining spot in Brentwood Bay, is closing its doors on December 31 after 24 years of service.
Known for its eclectic international menu, cozy patio seating, and vibrant community atmosphere, Cafe Zanzibar has been a staple in Central Saanich and a go-to for brunch in the community.

The closure follows a decision by the property owners to repurpose the site that Cafe Zanzibar has leased for 17 years, according to a statement shared online. The café, located at 1164 Stelly’s Cross Road, has been listed since March at an impossibly high rate of $399,000 per square foot.

In the heartfelt message, the Cafe Zanzibar team thanked the community for its support and shared memories of “laughs, tears, and delicious meals.”
To show appreciation, the cafe is offering free brewed coffee on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 am until the closing date.
