Chinese fried chicken chain opens first Canadian location in Metro Vancouver
Whether it’s KFC, Church’s, or Jollibee, there are plenty of fried chicken chains to try in and around Vancouver. But for those looking to switch up their typical spot, a new chain has just entered the Canadian market, and its first location is right here in Metro Vancouver: ZhengXin Chicken Steak.
“ZhengXin Chicken Steak was established in 2000, made from high-quality chicken, it has gained popularity among consumers, opening more than 20,000 stores in China and worldwide,” shared the chain on Instagram.

It also added that its popular items are its original chicken steak, spicy chicken steak, and chicken drumsticks.
What is a chicken steak? According to its website, a chicken steak is made from high-quality chicken that undergoes a special marination and frying process to “achieve a golden-brown crispy exterior while remaining juicy and tender inside.” It also said that each item is freshly fried per order, and each chicken steaks come with a Mei Gan (dried plum) powder.
Located in Burnaby at 5105 Kingsway, the new chicken spot is currently softly opened daily from 11 am to 9 pm.
