Let’s face it, most hockey fans had pictures of players in their rooms while they were growing up.
Heck, some young hockey fans even have team-themed bedsheets.
But the fact that a current NHL player has a photo of a sub-30-year-old Vancouver Canucks forward in his home should make most hockey fans feel old.
The Boston Bruins recently visited Vancouver, where hometown boy Fraser Minten had a moment he’ll never forget.
After scoring once during regulation, Minten proceeded to bury the overtime winner, sinking the Canucks 4-3.
“It was really cool for me, and all my friends too,” he said following the win. “They all grew up dreaming of the same thing.”
During Minten’s trip home to Vancouver, the Bruins posted some clips on social media of a tour through the youngster’s home.

Included in the clip, in a room full of medals and accolades, was a poster of none other than Brock Boeser.

There’s about a seven-year age gap between the 21-year-old Minten and the 28-year-old Boeser. When the now longest-tenured Canucks player made his debut for the team back in 2017, Minten would have been 12 years old. Formative years for a sports fan who grew up playing road hockey underneath the Cambie Street bridge.
Ironically, Minten and Boeser have almost the exact same stat like this season. Both players have nine assists, while Boeser has one more goal (9) than Minten (8).
For those curious about the backstory behind the Boeser poster, the answer might come on Jan. 13. That’s when the Bruins will release their feature on Minten’s hometown visit on their YouTube channel.
