A highly unusual incident occurred Monday evening when a man fell down the elevator shaft of the Canada Line’s Yaletown-Roundhouse Station in downtown Vancouver.

Emergency services and rescue crews were called to the station shortly after 7 pm, when they received reports of a man in a mobility scooter had fallen into the three-storey elevator shaft between the street level entrance and the rooftop of the elevator cabin.

The man was extracted from the shaft and sent to hospital. Fortunately, he suffered only minor injuries.
