A huge ski and snowboard festival with FREE concerts returns to Whistler next month

If you and your friends are searching for adventure, you need to pack your gear and make tracks to Whistler next month for a legendary event.
The World Ski & Snowboard Festival (WSSF) is taking over the resort municipality from April 7 to 13.
Athletes from around the world will be at WSSF, joined by hundreds of spectators to watch the competitions and take part in the festivities.
The massive mountainside celebration has something for everyone to enjoy, including free outdoor concerts with some big artists.

“The World Ski & Snowboard Festival is where culture and competition collide, bringing together the best of skiing, snowboarding, music, art, and nightlife in the ultimate celebration of mountain life,” said Brittia Thompson, festival director, to Daily Hive.
“Whether you’re here to witness jaw-dropping athletic feats, immerse yourself in creative expression, or simply soak up the electric après atmosphere, WSSF is an experience like no other. Join us in Whistler and be part of the energy — party in April, sleep in May.”

The main sports events taking place in various mountain locations include the Saudan Couloir Race Extreme on Friday, April 11, and The Grind from Thursday, April 10 to Saturday, April 12, with cash prizes up for grabs for the winners.
You can even get in on the action by signing up for the Slush Cup, with prizes being awarded for Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Wipeout, and more on Sunday, April 13. Make sure to pack your best costume for the competition!

The party continues into the night when WSSF features free concerts at the Skullcandy Stage in Skier’s Plaza on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
“Keeping the energy high all afternoon, the Outdoor Live Music Series, presented by Rockstar, will see Swollen Members, Ruby Waters, Shred Kelly, and more take over the Skullcandy Stage from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13,” added Thompson.
“WSSF is all about pushing limits—on the mountain and in the music scene—so get ready for an unforgettable week.”
