Vancouver police are investigating after a woman suffered serious injuries in what police said was an assault in the early-morning hours on Monday.
According to VPD Sgt. Aaron Roed, the incident took place just before 3:30 am in the area of Georgia Street and Gore Avenue.
Roed told Daily Hive the woman was taken to hospital, and so far no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

While the investigation is ongoing and limited information is available at this point, Roed said there does not seem to be any public safety threat with this incident.
Drivers are being advised that traffic “will be disrupted this morning in that area as officers are working on the investigation.”
