IHIT investigating after murdered man's body left in Chilliwack parking lot

Homicide investigators have identified the victim of a murder over the weekend in Chilliwack, and are asking for the public’s help to piece together what happened.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to a Scotiabank parking lot in the 46000 block of Yale Road around 11 pm on Saturday after a body was found with wounds that made the death look like a homicide.

Sunday afternoon, IHIT identified the victim as 58-year-old Charles Henry Klose.

“What we know of Charles so far is that he led a transient lifestyle and was known to frequent the downtown Chilliwack area. We believe many knew him in that community,” Sgt. Frank Jang said.

Jang added he does not believe Klose’s murder is related to ongoing gang conflict in the Lower Mainland.

IHIT would like anyone with information about what happened to Klose to get in touch by calling 1-877-551-4448, emailing [email protected], or leaving an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
