On Wednesday afternoon, Sony PlayStation showcased the first significant footage of its new Marvel Wolverine game, which features a nod to a B.C. town.
In one notable portion of the trailer, Wolverine is seen riding his motorcycle, with a highway sign referencing Squamish visible in the background.
In another portion of the trailer, it appears that Wolverine takes his motorcycle onto the Sea to Sky Highway.
Observant watchers quickly flocked to social media to share their findings about the game that’s being developed by the studio Insomniac, which was behind the popular Spider-Man games.
Wait, that sign says Squamish!!! Is this the Sea to Sky highway just north of Vancouver? Are we about to get some BC representation in a flippin’ Marvel game?@insomniacgames, I see you. pic.twitter.com/vsgjIWPMEE

Fans of the Wolverine character may not be too surprised to see a reference to a Canadian locale in the game, considering Wolverine himself, also known as Logan, is from Canada.
Wolverine’s place of origin is listed as Cold Lake, Alta.
According to the creators of the game, who spoke after the trailer was revealed, you’ll control Wolverine in various environments around the world.
We won’t have to wait too much longer to figure out how much of B.C. is actually in the Wolverine game, as the release date is set for Fall 2026.
You can watch the trailer below:
While it’s rare to see B.C. in a video game, this wouldn’t be the first time. A couple of years ago, we learned that a Mario Kart game had a track based on Vancouver.
