There’s always something being filmed in Vancouver, whether it be a TV show or a movie, but a major Chinese tech brand has shot one of its latest commercials here.

DJI, the Chinese brand in question, known primarily for its drones, filmed a commercial for a new wearable camera, the DJI Osmo Nano, in Vancouver.

As soon as the commercial begins, we see one of Vancouver’s major attractions, the Seawall.

Later in the commercial, we see more of the natural scenery in and around B.C., and we even catch a glimpse of the Vancouver Lookout in downtown Vancouver from the perspective of someone’s apartment.

The commercial ends with more shots in and around the Stanley Park Seawall.

If you’ve never heard of DJI, which stands for Da-Jiang Innovations, they’re one of the biggest technology companies in the world. Based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, DJI accounted for over 90 per cent of the consumer drone market last year, according to stats on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia adds that the company, founded in 2006, posted revenue of US$3.83 billion in 2021.

The tech brand has over 5.6 million subscribers on YouTube, and the commercial it just released, which was filmed in Vancouver, was for the DJI Osmo Nano, a new wearable camera “for versatile perspectives.”

DJI claims to have filmed most of the commercial on the Osmo Nano camera.

“Welcome to Vancouver,” someone commented on the video.

On X, many users complained about the lack of product availability in the United States.

GoPro released a commercial for its latest device shortly after DJI, but many of the comments about its new GoPro LIT HERO camera referenced how DJI had taken over the market.

“I [used] to love GoPro back in the day. This is why I buy DJI,” one of the comments said.
