White Rock Pier reopens to public on June 17

Thie iconic White Rock Pier is reopening to the public today.

In an announcement, the City Of White Rock announced the pier opened to the public on Wednesday morning after nearly a three-month closure in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pier was closed in an attempt to help flatten the curve. The Waterfront Promenade closed to the public in April and reopened in May.

“We are hoping that with the reopening of the White Rock Pier and a return to normal with parking, people will behave responsibly and safely and follow the guidance of our Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, said White Rock Deputy Mayor  Scott Kristjanson in a statement.

“Please keep two metres or more from those not in your immediate circle and be kind and patient with others as we continue through BC’s Restart Plan.”

All Waterfront parking lots will also return to their regular operation within a week. Visitors should note the West beach Parkade remains closed.
