Firearms, crossbows, and tasers are just a few of the weapons that were seized during an investigation by the Surrey RCMP.
According to police, the items were taken during a search warrant that was executed at a residence in the 7500 blocks of 202A Street in Langley.
“The search warrant stemmed from an alleged fraud that originated in Surrey in early October,” police wrote in a release.
In addition to evidence related to the fraud offence, the following items were reportedly seized as a result of the search warrant:
- Two loaded firearms
- Two replica handguns
- Three crossbows
- Three sets of body armour
- Six stolen vehicles
- Multiple conducted energy weapons (tasers)
- Swords, brass knuckles, and other weapons
The RCMP also says that nine individuals were located inside the residence during search and released pending further investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
“Taking these weapons off of the streets is significant and will have a direct impact on public safety,” says Sergeant Ed Hryciuk of the Surrey RCMP. “This is an example of how a report received from the public can lead to a larger investigation that has a positive outcome for the community.”
Anyone with further information regarding the incident can contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
