Water St. Cafe is starting its first-ever brunch service this weekend

Water St. Cafe is kicking off their first-ever brunch service, and from what we’ve seen, it looks like it’s going to be a delicious one.

The Gastown restaurant recently saw its long-time owner retire, and its new ownersĀ Eli Brennan and Alan Tse (formerly The Teahouse Restaurant) have taken over this spot, which is known for serving up quality eats for lunch and dinner since opening in 1988.

While Water St. has served one or two brunch specials during its lunch service in the past, this is the restaurant’s first-ever steady weekend brunch service.

Patrons can expect dishes such asĀ a Pork Belly Benny made with crispy pork belly, poached eggs, braised red cabbage, smoked paprika vinaigrette, and hollandaise, and this epic-looking French Toast – a combination of brioche, seasonal berries, mint, pistachio, and maple syrup.

There will also be a rotating Frittata of the Day available, which will be served with a side salad and frites.

The eatery, which is located in a heritage building, oozes charm and character. It can be found across from the steam clock in the building which housesĀ the Edward Hotel, an establishment that’s been around since 1906.

It’s time to put this classic spot back on your radar, it’s got some fresh things coming and this new brunch is only one of them.
