The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is in the midst of investigating a four-vehicle crash that took place in Langley on Monday night.

Officers had received a tip regarding a firearm related offence and located the suspects near 94 B Avenue and 204 Street in Langley, just before 11 pm.

The Vancouver’s emergency response team was mobilized, along with a VPD canine police officer and conducted a high-risk vehicle stop.

At the scene, four vehicles were found involved in a collision. Officers used loud distraction devices during the arrest, which many witnessed mistakenly perceived and reported as gunshots.

In total, four men were arrested and two firearms were recovered.

According to the VPD, minor vehicle damage was sustained during the arrest and one suspect had to receive medical care for a dog bite – the severity of which was unspecified. No other injuries were reported.

At this point in time, the VPD has not released any other information. The investigation continues and the four men remain in custody.
