VCH orders Babylon Restaurant and Cafe to temporarily close

Vancouver’s Babylon Restaurant and its sister spot Babylon Cafe have been ordered to close by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH).

The West End restaurants, known for their offerings like shawarma and falafel, are located at 1162 Denman Street and 1156 Denman Street, respectively.

According to VCH reports, both food establishments closed on September 5, 2020.

One August 21 report displays that Babylon Cafe failed to maintain two metres of separation between patrons of different parties.

A September 4 report outlines the same critical infraction at the Babylon Restaurant along with an infraction around the number of patrons at tables.
